I have a prop one controller that isn't acting rite. it doesn't mater which program i put on but it doesn't work. if i put on the trainer and have the switch on #1 it works fine but when i put it on #2 it just goes into random mode and dose what ever it would like.  It also seems that the board warped.  Did i kill it.

It is possible that the ULN is bad and when you attempt to run current through it things go hay-wire.  Replace the ULN and give it a go.  I assume that when you move to position #2 you have something connected to V+ and one or more of the OUTx pins.  The other thing to check is the load on those pins -- make sure you don't exceed the ULN output capability.

you could say that the load was next to none because all it was running was the trainer and it still did it.  as for the warped chip could it have over heated?

When you switch to position 2 on the Prop-1 that supplies voltage to the OUTx pins. If it works fine in position 1, but not in position 2 I would think it is the ULN or something connected to the OUT x terminals. Try pulling the ULN and see if the problem goes away

Scaring someone with a prop you built -- priceless!

Which chip is warped?  As Shawn suggests, pulling the ULN and running again is a good test.

is there any way of taking a picture of the warping, so we all can understand from you're perspective?

If the prop is mounted in your prop and not sitting on the bench could there be something stuck underneath the board causing the warping?  A mounting bolt or screw poking up and shorting out some traces?

grofarms

i wish it would be a simple as a bolt but no i have it sitting on my work table because i replaced it when the problems started i just hoped to revive the thing so i have a spare.  as for the picture i will try to get one tonight.  It is as if it is twisted or warped 1/8 in
