External trigger to Prop 2

Hi Gang:

I am working on interfacing a Prop 2 and a uMP3 to a time clock system. The time clock has a rj45 connector that provides a relay signal to a bell ringer. I am assuming that the trigger voltage is a 12V DC signal, but until I get my hands on it I will not know for sure. The time clock sets a schedule for bells throughout the day, and I want to have custom sounds for each 'bell' event. (bells are noisy and unfun)

What do I need to do to monitor the trigger signal from the time clock on the Prop 2?

Thanks

Well, that depends on the signal out of the clock.  Once you tell us what that is, specifically, we can give you an answer.  It could be as simple as a current limiting resistor of as involved as an opto-isolator.

Get the specs on what's coming out of that RJ-45 and we'll move forward.
