Some of you may have been wondering why I've become such a rabid fan of Vixen.  Well, there are a lot of reasons, really.

1. It's cool!
2. It's FREE!
3. It's extensible! (open architecture)
4. It's cool!

Let me show you something that may excite you Prop-1 newbies:

Yes, that's Vixen and what you're looking at is a Prop-1 sequence -- programmed graphically ("paint" your outputs and you can coordinate them with an assigned audio track [squiggly line above the output tracks]).  You can export this sequence as a valid Prop-1 program that is downloaded to the Prop-1 with the BASIC Stamp editor.  The sequence starts with some kind of trigger input (on P6 -- you can set active-high or active-low), the audio player type (AP-8, contact closure type [e.g., Cowlacious], or none), and then you mark the end and an sequence dwell time (that's the red bar).

It's working now but we may add a few bells and whistles before heading off to MHC -- we hope to have a Prop-2 version by then as well.

We love providing customer solutions and have found a great partner in KC, the creator of Vixen.  Do note that this program will only work for digital sequencer type applications, but my guess is that accounts for 50% - 75% of all prop needs.  So, for those that can't bear the price of those "brick" sequencers, this might be a viable option.
