Planning for a mostly daytime Halloween Event--ideas?

Hello all,

As most of you already know, Halloween is falling on a Sunday and as such,  that does make for an evening haunter's worst nightmare.  Let me explain:

Last year was the first time I put on a Halloween event and Halloween fell on a Saturday.   I had noticed early on that TOT's came out much earlier than they would have on a weekday and there was less of an 'evening' crowd.  The attraction I created last year was mostly dependent on it being dark out and as such I couldn't use it until the evening finally came.   While I did have some action last year, I did miss at least half of it.

For this year,  with Halloween now falling on a Sunday, the next day is a school/work day and thus I predict an even worse evening turn out than last year.   My initial plans were to build on last years attraction, and was going to do something with a video projector,  but now I am thinking about going a different route entirely and create an attraction that could also be enjoyed (experienced) in daylight hours.

The only area of my house that I can get dark enough for the daytime is the garage as the door area would be the only area I would need to 'wall off' to make it dark inside, but the space to work with is very small and there is an issue with a car that is parked in there as well (which I know cannot be parked outside overnight).   I do have a large patio with an awning over it, but I doubt I could 'wall off' that area effectively and make it dark enough without considerable expense in cost and time (i.e. framed walls).    For an evening haunt, walling off the awning area could easily be done with cheese cloth, but for the daytime???

So I am open to suggestions/ideas as to something that would be effective for any time of the day so I can get ALL the TOT's this year.

I do own a Prop-1, Prop-2, 2 RC-4's and an AP-8.

Thank You,

Geo

I had the same problem the last couple of years with a lot of early (daytime) arrivals.  I decided to build a prop that I could use while it was still light outside.  It's loosely based on the old "Trash Can Trauma" prop.  I used a modern style trash can with the hinged hood, and a long throw air cylinder.  I used a prop-1 to run the air cylinder, a funky proprietary sound board (pre AP-16, which would have made it so much easier  :'() a small fogger and a strobe light.  Everything was self contained inside the trash can.  Triggered manually.  When the tot's approached the porch where the can was sitting I hit the button and a latex blucky attached to the inside of the lid "jumped" out of the can with smoke, sound and strobe.  I ended up using it all night.  I'm thinking of replacing the sound board with the AP-16+ and adding a PIR this year.
You TOT's Nip it in the BUD!
