using x1-x4 as logic overrides

I want to use SPST switches connected to the RC-4 X1 thru X4 pcb ports as overrides to the logic settings. Do I need any current limiting res/etc. , or can I just wire them (W)  directly to the +5 (R) from the board. My concern is when the logic is setting the relay low (Off), & I flip the switch (+5 ) to force a manual ON condition, am I overloading the logic ?

thanks,
jesse

We put resistors on the board between the processor and the X1-X4 headers to prevent excessive current; just be very mindful of your connections
