Can I just trim the p7 pins on a 2803?

I may have fried the one one 2003 ULN that I have and was wondering if trimming the P7 pin will effectively turn the 2803 into a 2003? I think Jon had me do this about 2 years back but the grey matter is getting a bit rusty... ;D
