I have recently purchased a prop-1 and RC-4 and have had a Great time learning the programing and connection. I am keeping it simple this year (triggering an audio board and a DC motor) and now starting to look at the RC-4. Upon reading the documentation it doesn't show the revised RC-4. I have read link http://www.efx-tek.com/php/smf/index.php?topic=1359.0 and it states it uses a power supply.

What are the specification for the power supply for the RC-4? I want to make sure that I do not damage it on my first attempt.

Thank you,

Steve

You can use anything from 9 to 12v, and you really don't need much current (250mA or better).

Steve,

Welcome to the forums.

You will need a plug-in type power supply that is around 7.5 to 12vdc @500mA in general. The old version of the RC4 didn't use a external power supply it received its power from the Prop1, Prop2 or a PropSX 5vdc.

Thank you guys. Does it matter if + is center or outside?

Absolutely!  It must be a center-positive power supply.

All EFX-TEK products are center positive. You just use the standard power supply http://www.efx-tek.com/topics/12vdc.html or use the 2.1 mm Pigtail Cable here http://www.efx-tek.com/topics/cables.html and take power from the + and gnd terminals on your Prop-1.

Thank you for your input. I definetly didn't want to fry the board and thus my question.

Thanks again
