I am looking to make sure I am hooking up my Prop-1 and AP16 correctly.  Using a Prop-1 with the OUT4 as the trigger for the sound, will I run a wire from OUT4 to 12-24V INPUT and another wire from GRD on the Prop-1 to the other (open) terminal on the 12-24V INPUT.

Yes, that is correct hook up.

If, you want to take the full advantage of the AP-16, you can also connect it serially by using a servo cable. This give more access to the SD card sound files.

Actually that's incorrect. You would connect one of the 12-24 input terminals to V+ on the Prop-1 and the other to OUTx.

I stand corrected and thanks for finding my mistake Jack.

The servo cable you are referring to - is it the BS1 serial adapter connected to the USB-Serial Adapter or is it the Serial Inverter PN27112?  If not, what is the part number (PN)?  And it looks like it connects to the "J" on the AP16 diagram?

A serial connection (servo wire) from the Prop-1 is typically connected to PIN7 with the ULN pin removed and yes it would go to the 3 pin "J" connection on the AP-16+. If you are just controlling 1 sound file the serial connection isn't really necessary, the voltage trigger is fine. A serial connection gives you a lot more options (thru programming) with one simple hook up.
