I had an unfortunate mishap today when i attempted to connect power to the relay on the AP-16. A ton of sparks and some smoke . Damage to the relay, regulator and I believe a capacitor. Curious if I can send to you and maybe with a glimmer of hope that it might be saved. I'm not sure what your policy is in this situation. If you could let me know what my next step is. Thank you so much for your time.

It's a bummer to here this just before the day.

What it sounds like to me you did blue smoked the relay. If you were connecting your power to the screws marked "C" and "NO" on terminal block and when the relay turned it caused a dead short. This would give you the spark that you saw. These screws marked "C","NC" and "NO" go directly to the relay. If the AP-16 is able to power up then it may able to be saved but, the relay is done.

You will need to connect EFX-TEK directly about getting a replacement.

With the amount of damage described it is hard to tell what we can do.  Please contact John Barrowman in our Sales office (916-770-9244) so that he can give you an RMA for returning the product.  As this was a user-induced failure, we cannot warranty the product but JB is great guy and may be able to work out a replacement deal for you with a refurbished product -- if he's not able to repair your board.  If he can, there will be a repair fee.

Thank you for the info. I had it in my mind that this is going to be a repair or replacement at my cost.  I will contact John and get the ball rolling.  Once again thanks for the replies.
Happy Halloween,
