Could I use this item from parallax http://www.parallax.com/Store/Microcontrollers/BASICStampModules/tabid/134/ProductID/481/List/1/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName with the prop-1? It sounds like I could just program in a servo position in the prop-1, and then do some other things, and then set a new position, and then do more things instead of being stuck in a continuous refresh loop on the servos.

The docs on the servo pal list BS 1 timing values, so I don't see why not. The only problem I can see is you have to dedicate 2 outputs to servos with it. Good price, though!  ;D

Scaring someone with a prop you built -- priceless!

Until you get comfortable with state-machine style programming, that is probably a good solution.
