help installing the USB adapter for the prop1 (no connection)

Yes, I plugged in  the USB adapter and the prop1 into my USB port prior to the driver install.  As soon as the "new hardware found" popped up I remembered that there is a initial driver that needs to be installed from Parallax prior to the USB plug in.  Now I am in process of fixing what I did.  I have followed the instructions on Parallax's website on how to remove the third party "ACG Reader Driver".  My computer however, does not have a smartcard section with the ACG Driver listed in the device manager. Therefor I have no idea what to uninstall so I can get a connection to the basic stamp program.
Has anyone come across this before?  Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Nevermind. problem solved it was not the driver issue.

I just bought a laptop with vista on it. Like all new computers, no serial ports. It instantly recognized the usb2ser adapter, and gave me no problems at all. FWIW

Scaring someone with a prop you built -- priceless!

We still think it's best to use the FTDI drivers -- unless that's what Vista is installing.
