Prop One, VSA, Composelt,

I would like to add to a scene from last year that used a prop one, RC4, scary terry board, and one servo for head turns. This year I would like VSA to control the talking and turning and the prop one to operate the rc4 and a fc4 board. Can I use composelt with VSA and have the prop one trigger the scene to start from a pir? I will have a dedicated computer to control the VSA with composelt. The composelt can receive input triggers to start the VSA scene I'm trying to find out how I can have the prop one start the show when triggered via a PIR.

The only VSA drivers we have are for the Prop-SX -- you could use direct digital control of the RC-4 (via the X1 - X4 inputs) with the Prop-SX if you wanted to control AC circuits.  There is no VSA driver for the FC-4 so that is not a possibility -- unless John Brookshire wants to add it (we have no ability to add drivers to VSA).

I'm not familiar with Composelt so I can't really be of any help there.  Sorry.

I cannot say with certainty, but what you're wanting to do *may* be possible with Vixen -- I'll have to chat with KC.

Thanks JMAC just wanted to continue to use my Prop one to control pneumatics and the FC4 but use VSA to control the talking skull. The composelt software is a way to interface with VSA and allows external triggers to start scenes within VSA.

Couldnt you use pulsein and wait for a signal from VSA to start your prop1 routine?

The problem is there is no clean way to run the Prop-1 from VSA; the low baud rate and lack of timeout means things could get out of sync in a hurry.  We recommend the Prop-SX as a VSA slave, especially when servos are involved.
