EZ-8/EZ-8+ Programming With Vixen (2.1.x.x)

For those wanting to create sequences in Vixen for downloading to the EZ-8 or EZ-8+, this thread will include the required software pieces. Note that there are some differences between the two controllers.

* The EZ-8 requires a DB-9 serial adapter for newer PCs -- like the USB-to-Serial adapter

* The EZ-8+ requires a Prop-Plug for Vixen exchanges (may also be used to re-program the board).

* We are using 2.1.x.x of Vixen (version 2.5.x.x has been canceled). Download it from this link:

* When creating shows for the EZ-8 (classic), you must use 33ms event time.

* When creating shows for the EZ-8+ you may set the event timing from 25 to 250ms.
   -- shows are individually up- or downloaded
   -- on uploading, current project will be reset to match event timing and length of upload

You'll find two ZIP files attached to this thread; the files a separated to help you get them into the correct folder of your Vixen installation.

* ez-8_output_plugins.zip
   -- EZ-8 Output.DLL
   -- EZ-8.DLL
   -- unzip these into the Vixen\Plugins\Output folder

* ez-8_addins.zip
   -- EZ-8-I.DLL
   -- unzip this into the Vixen\AddIns folder

CRITICAL: You must delete older versions of these files before installing the new ones.

Important: These files have been tested and work, but we reserve the right to improve and update them!  ;)
