Is this hook up correct

I got this picture from another site...just wanted to make sure the set up is correct.  It also stated not to set the Prop1 to position #2.

The wallwart I'm using is 24VAC /500ma.
Thanks,

Dennis

That will work.  Since the Prop-1 needs power, anyway, why not run it from 12v and then connect your 12v device to V+.  Connect your 24v devices to the external supply as shown, adding diodes (1N4001) as in my diagram below for extra protection.

I am but a simple man...while I kind of understand schematics...I'm a picture kind of guy.  ???

Is this picture what the schematic shows? (the voltage on the picture says 12...ignore that it would be 24...I'm just curious about the diode set up)

Thanks Jon for the quick response.

I'm in the middle of a trade show (am on the show floor as I'm typing this....) so I had to do a quickie -- will do a diagram next time.

You see how your diode has a band on one end?; that's the "bar" (cathode) end of the diode in the schematic (the arrow is the anode).  And the diode should just be wired across the motor terminals.  In your diagram the diode is in series with the motor, when it should be in parallel.

Be careful running motors from the Prop-1; that can use a lot of current and may stress the ULN, so be sure to check the motor specs against the ULN specs in the documentation.

Thanks Jon...sorry to catch you in the middle of business...hope you do well!

It is going to be for a solenoid (24V-sprinkler valve)...the motor was already in the picture...but thanks for that info too because I'm sure I can use that info later.

So between the two wires coming out of the solenoid.

Good Luck and Thanks
