One thing he's got there is a pair of car stereo speakers and an AP-16+.  I've never considered car stereo speakers and when I read the post, I remembered I have a practically new pair sitting in my garage, from an old upgrade years ago.  They're the stock front door speakers from a '95 Acura Integra.

What's it take to use these?  Just an amp with the right specs?  I see that the AP-16+ has two channels of 20W.

Speakers are speakers, doesn't matter if they're intended for cabinets or cars. The two things that matter are ohms and wattage rating. If you feed more watts into a speaker than it's designed to handle you get terrible distortion and then a ripped cone. The AP-16+ will drive those old door speakers with no problem but considering they're 16 years old and probably not the best quality to begin with, they may rip apart.

Thanks for the info.  While I've been soldering parts together for awhile now, I've never used speakers except in plug-and-play configurations.

I took a look at them, they seem to have a specific connection on the back but they've also got the specs, so I just have to hook them up to an amp.  Thanks again.
