Interfacing a Parallax Netburner Kit to the Prop-2

Howdy Folks

I've been working on a Christmas project for a few months now - this started life over on the Parallax forums (http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=21&m=193343), where I was using a BS2IC and a Parallax Internet Netburner Kit (PINK) module.

When I heard about the Prop-2 being available, I thought that this would make an ideal product with which to integrate the code I had written on the BS2 with some lighting control.

What I have created is a 12-channel DC interface for 24V lights (using the Fireflies code) and 12 channels of AC switched lighting via RC-4 boards - the later being controlled through a web interface.

Now this is where it starts to get a bit sticky - I need some custom interfaces for the PINK and RC-4, and a beefier 5V rail to cope with the extra stuff hanging off the Prop-2. I have created a schematic and PCB overlay for a daughter-board that connects to the 3pin headers on the Prop-2, and I just need some advice on laying out the PCB, so that it fits the Prop-2 exactly - I guess I'm after the positions of the headers relative to the board mounting holes.

Anyway, hope you guys can shed some light on this.

Regards

Ian

PS I have attached the code, schematic/PCB artwork etc - I'm using Express PCB

I will get those dimensions for you -- give me a day or so as I have to have JB open the board files.

Here you go, mate. Please... print it out (1:1) and check it before committing to a PCB.

Many thanks for the quick turn-around!!!

I'll update my schematic and pcb files, and get the boards ordered.

All

Have got the project running on a temporary basis at http://86.6.7.245:8880/Buttons.html using my trusty BS2 - I've ported it to a Prop-2 and will be fitting the daughter-board to it just as soon as I've got the parts. I'll have it running from 16:00 to 22:00 BST (GMT+1)

Check it out if you're interested !!
