Can a RC-4 be daisy-chained/serial connection via a DC-16?

I've never daisy-chained devices before but working on a prop where I might need every possible pin on my PROP1... Going to include a RC-4 and a DC-16 and wondering if I can save a connection on the PROP1 and run a cable from PROP1->DC-16->RC-4?

Hi Chris,

Yes, both the DC-16 and the RC-4 use the Parallax serial protocol, so you can daisy-chain them and then send out commands on the serial connection to trigger specific outputs on each board.  The DC-16 docs are attached to the second post in this thread:

If you compare the DC-16 docs to the RC-4 docs, you'll see that it's almost the same set of commands.  Look in the PDFs for the sections on "DC-16 Serial Protocol" and "RC-4 Serial Protocol" to get the command structure right.
