I'm very new at programming and at first it was like learning a foreign language I've never heard of. I did a lot of research and this is what I found that help tremendously. First an e-book from Parallax called "what is a Microcontroller" it's a 300 page student guide that explains all the basics of programming. http://parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/books/edu/wamv2_2.pdf
Then at the EFX-TEX.com site under controllers there are downloads for docs and programming. I found the prop2 programming guide at http://www.efx-tek.com/downloads/prop-2_programming_basics.pdf to be very helpful.
Parallax.com site also has some decent downloads that are put together well. Click on" support", then "downloads" then under "documentation" is where you'll find some good info.
These two sites also helped me understand more of what it's about http://www.engr.udayton.edu/faculty/jloomis/ece445/stamp/pbasic.htm and http://bart.simpson.edu/CmSc330/PBASICProg.pdf has some good info.
The most important thing I learned was to start out with an outline of what I wanted to happen. Then start with one command and get it working before moving on to the next.
Blogs are also helpful. There are others out there willing to help when you become stuck.  Thanks to Jon Willams (JonnyMac), Livinlowe, and other blog sites. I was able to complete my first program of 27 codes to get my prop where I wanted it.

One day I hope to be as efficient and knowledgeable as some of the bloggers/techies out there.
