This isn't really a programming technique, but something I discovered the hard way this year. I built a pneumatic pop-up mummy, controlled by a prop-1, AC-8, and RC-4 all nearly mounted on an 8x10" sheet of acrylic, triggered by a PIR.

Problem is I mounted the acrylic board to the back of the table the mummy pop-up was on. Every time the mummy activated, it shook the board like crazy. Eventually the PIR cable pulled out, and the prop stopped working.

The problem was solved by relocating the board well away from the pneumatics :)
