Hi all,

Anyone know about this value?  I have two of them and am not real familiar with using other than a two-way valve.

This as markings for the ports as   A    B   on top
and   EA   P   EB   on the bottom.
(see image)

There are two squares,  solenoid marked on left square and spring (?) on right.
Left square shows arrows going from P to A and B to EB.
Right side shows arrows going from P to B and A to EA.

So, I'm thinking that with power off, it should follow the left side (P to A and B to EB)?
When power is applied, P should flow to B and A to EA, right?

I'm using this with a spring return device so I only need to provide air to activate it and then exhause the air to retract it. I have port A plugged and EB to a flow regulator (to slow the return).  EA is not used.

Is this the correct set up?

Thanks!

Well, since I am an STC distributor I had better be able to answer this.

First, I belive you have a 4V110-1/8. I have never seen or heard of a 4V111.

If you are trying to use it as a 3 way valve, to extend a single acting cylinder when power is applied, then yes, you have plumbed it correctly. With power not applied B is connected to EB, allowing your cylinder's spring to retract the rod and not trap air. When you apply power P will be connected to B thus extending your cylinder.

Thank you!   Yes, you are correct, it's a 4v110-1/8.   Is there a more appropriate valve to use in this application?

My A and spacebar often fails me, now I gotta worry about mixing up my ones and zeros.  Good thing I'm not a computer! :-[

You could use a 3V110-1/8 http://evilusions.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=26_36_62&products_id=76 and not have to plug holes. The only difference being is that it's a 3 way valve instead of a 4 way like the 4V110, and has two less ports that are obviously not needed. They is not much of a price difference so either way isn't going to hurt you. I always stock them in 12vdc with 3w coils specifically for use with EFX-TEK products.
