64 bit laptop

i went and purchased a new laptop without thinking everything through....(1) will the basic editor work on a 64 bit dell laptop?
(2) will a usb to serial adapter talk to the prop1 and prop2 boards?

You'll have to ask Parallax to get a definitive answer as neither John nor I have 64-bit laptops.  I suspect, however, the answer will be yes so long as you are running Windows.

This is why Parallax went through the work of designing their own USB-to-Serial adapter (we were there at the time, and John B. actually designed it): to give Parallax customers a low-cost USB-to-Serial adapter that they know would work.

Please, save yourself a headache, even if you have to wait a couple days for shipping.  Go with the Parallax USB-to-Serial adapter; you'll be happier in the long run.  You can get it from us:
