The AP-8 probably won't because we cannot locate the sound chips at a reasonable price -- one source quoted us $50 ea! (hard to sell the AP-8 for $49.95 when one component costs $50).

That said, we're making great progress on a replacement.  I won't say more than that because it would just invite trouble.   ;D

WOW! that's a bit of a jump in price, I hate it when that happens. But hey no pressure halloween is only 5 months away!  LOL

I noticed that I can have multiple sound files recorded. How do I control multiple sounds with an EZ-8? let's say I have recorded a scream that is 10 seconds and a choking sound that is 15 seconds. I am using channel 8 on my EZ 8.

After reading the doc's file it seems to play only one sound "cue" with multiple sound files "autofollow", does that make sense?

You can play multiple sound files if you communicate serially to the AP-8. If you just use the switches it will only play one sound.

ok - so if I want to use the serial connection, I am guessing I would want to program the EZ-8 with software (vixen)?

Sorry, I had a doh! moment. I believe you cant use serial communications with the EZ-8. According to the docs, you would have to use 4 connections from the EZ-8 to access the different sounds. A0-A3, and Play.

The short answer is that you can't -- the multiple sounds feature only works with controllers that can send serial messages and the EZ-8 doesn't do that.

No.  We will make an announcement when it's ready.  There is no point in giving an estimate as we've made design improvements more than once that has pushed the date out.  It's close, but that's all I will say.  And yes, you'll have plenty of time before Halloween!
