Crydom relays... D2W203F vs. CXE380D4

Hey there,

Was assembling the guts to a prop today and noticed when inserting the relays into the RC-4, that I have two different kinds; both Crydom, but four are numbered D2W203F and four are CXE380D4.    The CXE kind came with my RC-4 "combo kit".

(The CXE relays also look worn and have slightly bent and uneven pins compared to the other relays. I had to adjust the pins to get them to insert into the RC-4.)

Just wondering... is it OK mix the relays on the same RC-4 board?   Is there an advantage of one over the other?  The CXE type says they're 4A 380VAC vs. 3A 240VAC for the others.

Thanks,

You're Ok to mix them. CXE's will just handle more voltage and current.

Scaring someone with a prop you built -- priceless!

It is okay to mix because the outputs are not connected.  We have, however, had occasional problems with some relays requiring a higher trigger voltage than seemingly specified -- so do check your new relays to make sure the RC-4 will activate them.

Thanks guys.  As the relays came from EFX-Tek with the RC-4 combo kit, I assume they'll work correctly.  Won't know until I give 'em a try in about a week.  (Waiting for a USB2SER on backorder. :(  )

If you got them from us they have been tested.  If I remember we got a "close out" deal from Crydom and was able to pass it along.
