Creepy Carport

A last minute, but very cool effect we did last year was a PROP1 controlled haunted carport. As TOTs entered the carport (which was mostly closed in) a PIR triggered the PROP1 to start it's action.

A series of spiders and other creepy things were suspended from the ceiling, hung through staples by fishing line that ran back to a 2" diameter PVC pipe mounted against the ceiling at the far end. A motor (recovered from an old Christmas reindeer prop) was hooked up to the PVC cylinder and when powered on (via a relay in an RC-4 board) started turning the pipe, which started letting all the creepy things descend from the ceiling.

As the creepies neared their lowest point, the PROP1 triggered another relay in the RC-4 which fired up several strings of orange LED icicle-style light strings surrounding the carport, instantly illuminating all the creepies.

Finally, on their way out, the same PROP1 fired off another relay which was wired into the trigger of a fog machine we had mounted inside an upside-down metal trash can (painted to look like a large can of bug spray); looking like the large bug spray can was spraying them as they escaped! Bwah ha ha  ;D
