AP-16+ Pre & Post delays

       I'm assuming that the pre & post delays only work with SFXxx.WAV files and not AUXxx.WAV files?

That is correct; I tried to spell that out in the Manual Control and Pre-Play and Post-Play Delays sections -- will work on more explicit verbiage.
