Hi John, You helped me with the cow for the Kid's Museum in Ludington. Well, I want to put a normally open push button switch on the AP16 for manual operation.
What should the rating be on this type of switch for this board? Example: 4A 125 Vac.
Thanks

Any switch will do. You are dealing with TTL voltages (usually 5V, could be 3.3 on the AP-16), and very little current. A 4A 125 V switch will do nicely!!

Scaring someone with a prop you built -- priceless!

That will work fine; the AP-16+ uses 3.3v and the start input (dry contact) is limited internally to 0.33mA (1/3 of a milliamp).

Thanks! The board is working great, but the PIR sensor isn't. Those kid's just put off to much heat!
It will be fun to manually make her moo.

If you're going to use a PIR or mat-switch -- something that can be triggered by your victims visitors -- you'll want to use the POST-play delay pot to prevent re-triggering too quickly.  We've only tested the board with the Parallax PIR connected to the PIR port; if you're using another type of PIR it should, of course, have normally-open contacts (many commercial PIRs are normally-closed) and be connected to the SWITCH INPUT port
