What effect would using a block of wood as a mount for all of the controller boards do.  I know if you handle the back of the boards( the soldered side) it will buzz and sometimes act up.  Will wood do the same if the solders touch the block.  Thanks

Yes it will possibly act like your hand if the wood is damp.  Look at EFX-TEK.com under hardware, you will find a really nice laser cut plastic mount.  I don't know what you have, Prop-1, etc.  Plastic with stand offs work great and cause no problems.

I use wood all the time, but always with stand-offs.  You should probably always use stand-offs anyway for any mounted surface as not doing so can lead to cracking the PCB if mounted directly to a surface and the screws are tightened down too much.  You can get stand-offs at the EFX-TEK site or several other places such as Jameco and Mouser.

There is no problem with using wood as an mount for the EFX-TEX products, just remember to make stand-offs your friends. You can get these new friends ;D from Homedepot or Lowes in the hardware section. They will be located next to the screws.

I mount all of my boards in heavy duty TupperWare type containers with a piece of 3/8" packing foam (soft spongy stuff) under the board which would work fine with wood also. I've even used sticky backed Velcro on some of my small homemade boards to hold them in place.
