I understand your position, however this the power supply that came with my order.
The first page states the below,
• Power input: 12-18VDC, 3A. Not 12-18VDC, 1000mA.
However further into this document I find the below statement,
CAUTION: Do not apply more than 18 volts DC to the power input; this is the maximum voltage
allowed by the amplifier circuitry. Note, too, that for maximum volume the AP-16+ should be
powered by 18 volts DC at 3 Amps.
I believe that this was an oversight, nothing more.
The short comings of the power supply explain the weird happenings upon my using the AP-16+.
I will be calling John tomorrow to discuss this.

Let me say this again so others are not confused: the AP-16+ doesn't come with a power supply unless you use part #31317 which is the AP-16+ with an 18v, 3A power supply.

The AP-16+ will work at 12v, but you need more current than the 12v, 1A supply we use with controllers can provide.  Remember, the 12v, 1A supply can provide about 12 watts.  Well, you cannot get 40 watts out of the AP-16+ if the supply is only capable of providing 12; the power supply gets overwhelmed by the demand.

I don't know what oversight you're referring to, unless you meant it was on your part and you ordered the wrong supply for the AP-16+.  We have information on our product page and in the documentation that suggests you should use an 18v, 3A supply with that product.

I am looking at the invoice, and the part number is 31317.
The web site does not show this part number, you must specifically ask for it.
As you guys do not sell any of your equipment with power supplies, you must order them as an accessory.
I stated earlier in one of post, I think that this was just an over sight and nothing more.

Okay... if there was an error in what we shipped (we're human) you should have called the sales line right away so we could correct that.  I called John B and he is going to ship you an 18v, 3A supply so you'll have it on Friday.

QuoteThe web site does not show this part number, you must specifically ask for it.

Not so.  When parts are in stock (at the moment, they're not), this part # is available in our store.  When you called, we had just received a shipment of power supplies and 1st article AP-16+s from the second production run.  At the moment, we're waiting on the second production run to be complete and we will add things back into the store (you lucked out and called when we had a few AP-16+s that were not showing in the store).

As this thread has morphed from AP-16+ tech support to sales support and that is concluded, I'm locking it.  Do not start another thread on sales issues, that is not what these forums are.  Please call John B at our sales number if there are additional questions regarding your order.
