Irreparably fried, or?  I put my power supply on a meter - seems OK.  Parallax's editor can't see it and it did earlier.

I think I read your post correctly. Are you having a problem with the Basic Stamp editor seeing the Basic Stamp 1 (Prop-1)?

One thing that you can check, is to see if you have a steady 5VDC coming from the 5 volt voltage regulator.

If this regulator was receiving too much voltage, it could of cause this problem you have now when you powered it up for the second time when you corrected the power supply. The Basic Stamp needs this steady 5 volts in order to work right and if the Basic Stamp editor doesn't think there is Basic Stamp connected on the comm port of your computer due to this changing voltage from the voltage regulator it won't download your program to the Stamp.

Which LED is flashing? If the power and V+ LEDs then you have a short or are drawing too much power from the supply.

If I move the power switch to position #1, only the power LED flashes.  When I move it to position #2, both flash.  Since I measured the power supply and it appears to be working OK, then I have a short in the card?

Yes, something is amiss. Remove the ULN and try again.  If still flashing, you'll have to return to us for repair.

This is a good suggestion that I didn't think of that one myself ::).

What's the voltage of your power supply (no load) when checked with a meter?

Reseated the chip - same problem.  Guess I'll be returning the unit.

25v which is within its specified range of 21v - 27v.

Call the sales office (916-770-9244) for an RMA before returning the board.

Hi JM,

In Sept last year, I got the RMA at your suggestion, sent the Prop-1 back to your Knoxville shop and that was the last I ever heard from anybody at EFX-TEK.  I called and emailed, but to no avail.  Can you check on this for me?

Thanx,

JonnyMac

Yes, please send an email to the company account with details so we can track things down.
