Question about prop2 and talking skull

I probably already know the answer to this but is it possible to use the prop2 to operate a talking skull?  I am trying to avoid using multiple boards such as a prop controller and something like from cowalisous.  I''ve done this using the cowalisous board and also using VSA.  I have a prop2 and also one on order as well as the AP16 and was hoping I could make this work.  The program will control three servos to tilt and swivel the skulls head with a 4th to operate the jaw.  The prop will also control a fog machine in a cauldron with a motor working a stick with the arms attached.

So basically the sequence on the prop will do this;

Resting, skeleton is muttering under it breath while it stirs the cauldron and fog is spilling over the edge

When activated the headnwould move right, say a phrase, center, look down then up , say another phrase, look right and again say another phrase then center and move up and down while laughing.

Hmm now that I have written it all out it is looking like VAS maybe the best answer.

There is just not enough memory available to do this kind of animation. This is why we added the microSD adapter to the HC-8+: it allows us to use a show control program (Vixen) to create complex, synchronized moves, then play them back without worry bout memory size.  And as the files are on a microSD, we can store multiples and create very complex shows.

Yeah that is what I thought.  Can the HC-8+ sync jaw movements with a sound track from the AP-16+?  How does the HC-8+ handle servo movement?

I just ordered a Prop2 on order #1909, if the HC-8+ can do what I want I may want to swap out the Prop2 and pay the difference.  Can you let me know if the Prop 2 has shipped yet?  And if not would it be possible to swap them out?

It appears your order has NOT shipped so you need to act fast.

Call John B at our sales # (916-770-9244).  You'll want to exchange your Prop-2 Start Kit for these items

1) HC-8+ (#31208)
1) Prop-Plug Programming Adapter (#32201)
1) uSD Adapter(#99002)

Be sure to have a valid credit card to cover the difference; there will be no change in shipping charges.

Yes, it costs more. Let me say without hesitation, however, you are getting exponentially more horsepower.  In straight Spin (easy high-level programming) the Propeller runs about 100x faster than the BS2.  The Propeller can be programmed in Assembly with is 10000x faster in most cases.  You get multiple processors to do advanced things.

To your question on sync.  You will use Vixen to create your show in sync with audio, including jaw movement.  You can create mutliple shows, put them on the uSD card, and run them at will.

The HC-8+ is a good, long-term investment.

SWEET!  Jut got off the phone with John B and got that squared away.  Very excited to start working on this.  This is one of the many reasons why I will only use EFX-TEK for this stuff.  You guys are great.

Now I need to get out the welding rig this weekend and start building the support for the skeleton.
