Forward/reverse small volt motor

I'm working on a project for one of my classes, originally I thought I'd be able to use the controller from my class to run my small motor and the sensor I need for the readings. Due to the way the project is set up I have to use the cubloc from my class to run the sensor, but I am sick of fighting with the code and the board to get it to run my motor and my sensor. So what I am curious is with the prop 1 can I get it to control forward and reverse on my motor by changing which direction the supply current runs to the motor.

It's just a drive motor from an old roomba sweeper. I can do it manually by just changing the poles of the motor going to my battery pack. But I want to achieve a motion kind of like a swaying chandelier. For my class, I just have to use a vibration sensor and make it display an output, rather than just laying it on an engine, like every other kid in my class is doing, I wanted to mix my love of props in with my presentation. Unfortunately, I have been working with this cubloc so long I am having trouble picking the prop 1 back up and remembering it's limitations.

So basically I need the prop 1 to take my battery pack input and control which output gets the voltage on a timed interval. Like a couple seconds. Also I read somewhere something about a limiter. Is that in the prop 1, will 3 AAA's in series be enough to overcome it? If not I can power it with a 9 volt instead?

The Prop-1 can't directly do what you want. The outputs are active low only (connects to GND when active).  However, it could reverse the voltage to your motor by using a few relays but the wiring gets a little complicated. You would also have to be careful that everything is programmed and connected correctly or you will short something out. Your best bet would be to use an HB-25 motor controller connected to the Prop-1. Here's a thread with more info on the HB-25.

Also, not sure if you are wanting to power the Prop-1 or your motor with 3 AAA's. The Prop-1 won't function on 4.5V, you'll need at least 9VDC.

No, I can plug the prop 1 in, I was just wanting to run the motor off of the AAA's. Thanks though, that's what I needed to know.

Jack is right about the Prop-1 without the use of relays, since the outputs aren't able to the current of the motor. But, powering the Prop-1 with batteries (like 3AA's in series or 9 volt) is very much doable.

If you're going to run the Prop-1 from AA batteries, use a 6- or 8-pack (for 9 or 12 volts).
