I have a number of OEM BS-1's. Any tricks to controlling an AP-8 with a BS-1 before I buy? Thanks.

No tricks at all; the Prop-1 is a BS1 that's been industrialized.

I am also looking to control an AP-8 from a BS-1. The AP-8 docs indicate how to use SEROUT, but I have not been able to find out how to connect the AP-8 to the BS-1. The Black-Red-White cable supplied with the AP-8 presumably plugs in to the pins labelled BGW on the AP-8, but how to wire the other end to the BS-1?
Thanks,
David

The OEM BS1 does not have servo-compatible headers like the Prop-1 or the Parallax Board of Education does, so you're going to have to do some assembly.  Use the I/O pin of your choice -- that connects to the white wire; the black wire connects to ground (the AP-8 and BS1 must have a common ground for serial comms.  The AP-8 has its own power supply so the red wire isn't used.
