Read and display on LCD two or more remote temperature readings.

I would like to build a system that would read mulitple remote temperatures and display the results on a LCD display. An example would be to read temperatures from two of more storage compartments and continuously rotate the results on an LCD indicating both the compartment name and the temperature in F. Would this be possible with a Prop-1?

I think it might be very tough; the trick is the "remote" aspect... how remote is "remote"?  How many is "multiple"?  This sounds more like a Prop-SX project.
