Cutting the 2803 pins

I "let the smoke out" of the 2803 chip this past weekend.  I took the one out of my other prop1......luckily i had a backup.   
my question is that i need to trim the pin so that i can use the Robotics UMP3 player.  I am only using the transmit (TX) pin and i am using pin #7 on my Prop2 controller.

Am i right in saying that i only need to trim the top left pin (PIN7).  i am referencing the UMP3 post that you has the photo....i will try to attach the picture .
