Mounting bracket for Parallax PIR

Hey Everybody,

I am designing, and thinking about producing a small mounting bracket for the parallax pir sensors that efx-tek sells. I know alot of people, and my self personally have made them from alot of different materials such as pvc pipe. But If I make a bunch of them at once I can get the cost way down. A couple deisgn features I am trying to figure out that you guys could help me decide on.

1. Fixed angle or adjustable? I could make them so that the sensor is parallel, 45 degrees, or 90 degrees from the mounting surface, or I could make the angle adjustable. I am thinking for most halloween/ haunted house applications the sensor mounting parallel to the mounting surface would work fine.

2. Built in field of view shielding, or just glue on a piece of pvc if needed? I could build in lens field of view shielding to give them a narrow band, which is desired in most prop applications, but sometimes I know that isn't desires. Should I make it an add on piece?

I am suprised they don't have one for at least mounting to the frame works of their robots, similar to the ping sensor mounting bracket.

No one sees a need for brackets for the pir? Or at least as input?

Well, first prototype is done, and it works great. I am going to be running about a dozen for my self in my shop. I should be able to sell them for $15. As soon as I get this run finished I will post pictures and a link to them on my website.

In case anyones interested. I know everyone here is a diy'er, but, I have built some of these now, they work great. They have two sets of mounting holes for a variety of ways to place the bracket. The PIR mounts with 2 - 2-56x1/2" machine screws.

Are they made out of metal or plastic? Looks nice.

Both. Aluminum shielding tube pressed into PVC angle. I just realized that is a crappy picture. I will put more up later.
