Description
Is your prop or display long on processing power but falling short of DC outputs? That’s where the DC-16 comes in. Through a simple serial link the DC-16 allows the prop programmer to add 16 additional DC outputs to your project, and through its addressability, this can be extended to four DC-16 boards (for a total of 64 outputs) on a single serial control line. The switched DC outputs are available at terminals that will accommodate up to 14-gauge wire making the connection of as many solenoids, low-voltage lamps, and small DC motors as you need. The DC-16 is powered by 9 to 24 VDC and a three position power switch allows the use of this supply at the V+ terminal, or the option to use a second (isolated supply) to power devices controlled on the switched outputs.

Note: Power supply is not included with the DC-16. We suggest our 12 VDC, 1 amp supply (see link below).

Technical Note
The ULN2803A output driver can interfere with serial communications between a prop controller (Prop-1, Prop-2, or Prop-SX) and the DC-16. EFX-TEK recommends that P7 (Prop-1) or P15 (Prop-2 and Prop-SX) is used for serial communications, and that the ULN2803A is replaced with a (7-channel) ULN2003A to prevent interference.
